Dear Mr.______,
thank you for your request and for considering Germany as your country of choice where you would like to live and work.
Since Croatia joined the EU on 01.07.2013, the citizens of this new Member State do no longer require a residence permit (visa) to enter Germany. They can legally stay in Germany as long as they can identify themselves with a passport or an official identity card (ID).
When permanently moving to Germany, the registration at the local registry office is mandatory.
In order to work in Germany, Croatian citizens need an EU work permit for a transition-period of two years. After this period, the Federal Government will revise the regulation of access to the German employment market.
The EU work permit is issued by the International Placement Services (ZAV) of the German Federal Employment Agency. To obtain an EU work permit a concrete job offer is required. Please note that the intended employment can only be taken up after the suitable EU work permit from the responsible ZAV team has been issued. The responsibility lies with the ZAV work permit team that is in charge of the area in which the employer is domiciled.
Permission for working in temporary employment (time-work) will not be granted. (According to: §40 Abs. 1 Nr. 2 Aufenthaltsgesetz)
Further information on the required application documents and the locations of the work permit teams is available on: <www.zav.de/arbeitsmarktzulassung>
Please understand that I can`t give you information about how long it will take to get the EU work permit. Please contact the responsible work permit team to get information about this.
A work permit EU is not required for:
- university graduates, who are occupied in a field of work which requires a graduate degree, and their relatives
- applicants who take up a qualified apprenticeship or vocational training
- seasonal workers in the fields of: agriculture and forestry, the hospitality industry, fruit and vegetable processing and sawmills etc. for a period of six months p.a.

Za rad u DE, službeno. Privatno, mogu napisati kako sam počeo, koliko mi je trebalo vremenski do prvog posla, pitanja u vezi najma stana, kupovine mjesečne karte DB-a, najboljeg donner-a, i sličnog.
